RICK VIOLETTE TEAMS WITH HIBISCUS STABLES AS PRIMARY NEW YORK TRAINER OF 2-YEAR-OLDS
Somers, New York-based company teams with Rick Violette to offer New York Circuit Thoroughbred partnerships

Somers, NY, August 2, 2011 – Hibiscus Stables has announced an agreement with Rick Violette to train a string of its New York-based horses beginning in 2012 as Hibiscus continues to add New York-bred runners to its roster and participate in the ensuing growth of the New York-bred program at NYRA tracks.

Hibiscus Stables CEO Mike Oliveto said, “Rick has been a leading trainer in New York for years and he’s deeply committed to the game. He’s the president of the New York Thoroughbred Horseman’s Association and he sits on the board of NYRA. On the track he’s had success at the highest levels of racing and he has a reputation of doing an excellent job with 2-year-olds. We couldn’t be any more pleased than to have him as part of the Hibiscus Stables team.”

"We’re going to hit the ground running with Rick and get him horses right away. There’s tremendous purse increases right around the corner in New York and Hibiscus plans to be poised to take full advantage of these lucrative opportunities. Having both Rick and Linda Rice on our team gives us some serious firepower when it comes to the training and development of our horses.” Oliveto added.

In 2011, Hibiscus Stables successfully offered partnerships for the New York and California circuits. Oliveto credits a unique approach to partnerships, which includes a strong focus on the partners themselves and open communication on strategy, news, and a constant stream of information sharing. Partners are kept up to date on all facets of the business through newsletters, phone calls, and meetings which creates a true “partner” experience for all owners.

Hibiscus Stables is currently assembling members for new partnerships for the 2012 season. The horses acquired for these partnerships are yearlings and 2-year-olds and will be raced on the New York circuit including Aqueduct, Belmont, and Saratoga. Other new 2012 partnerships are forming with horses that will race on the Southern California circuit which includes Santa Anita, Hollywood Park and Del Mar race tracks.
